Bio

IT), Etnica Festival (IT) ,Kultur Punkt (CH), Wangen Jazz Point (DE), Ex Wide (IT), Collodium (DE).

Modestino Musico: Fisarmonica
Vieri Bugli: violino
Gabriele Pozzolini: percussioni
Arianna Romanella: voce e chitarra

Mescarìa is the fusion between the term “mmesca”, which means “to mix”, and the word  “aria”, which in music identifies a vocal style with the pace of a lullaby, characteristic of the tradition from  Southern Italy and defined as “canto all' aria”.
It is the new project of three members of the Baro Drom Orkestar (one of the most important world music bands from Europe) with Arianna Romanella, young singer from Basilicata. Passing through the soul of Southern Italy (from Campania to Puglia, taking a break in Basilicata), Mescarìa will take you on a musical journey that from the roots of Southern Europe flies around the globe: through the rituals of Nigerian women, gipsy sounds, songs in Roman language and urban Tarantelle.
The first album takes its name from the band itself. Distributed by Materiali Sonori, it contains the essence of the concert work of Mescarìa and it has been presented in the most important festivals and clubs in Italy and Europe: Orientoccidente Festival (IT), Kultur Punkt (CH), Wangen Jazz Point (DE), Ex Wide (IT), Collodium (DE), Etnica Festival(IT)
